The deadline is fast approaching for First Time Homebuyers who want to take advantage of the $8,000 tax credit. Closing has to occur by November 30th to be eligible for the credit.

For many, they are unsure how the first time homebuyer tax credit works and this lack of understanding can potentially put them off claiming the credit, or worse, put them off buying a home.

Thanks to the Greater Northwest Indiana Association of Realtors (GNIAR) there is another free, homebuyer information seminar to help first time homebuyers. The seminar brings together experts in real estate, banking and consumer credit counseling about the incentives and programs available.

Also, the seminar will advise those who aren’t ready to find a home and close by November 30th the best course of action for them too ensure they make the most of what is available for them.

This session is on October 13th at 8PM at GNIAR, 800 E. 86th Ave., Merrillville.
