Northwest Indiana Real Estate Market: Economy Update – Local Economy Doing Well
The economy is a hotly debated topic across the nation right now as the recovery process takes full swing.
However despite negative national press reports, regionally and locally here in Northwest Indiana the future is bright. In fact, Gov. Mitch Daniels gave his stamp of approval to the job performance of the Indiana Economic Development Corp.’s board of directors while battling the effects of difficult business climate. He praised positive economic development in the state citing 14,056 new job commitments, $1.28 billion in investment commitments as well as higher salaries. From Jan. 1 through Sept. 30, the IEDC has granted funds to 120 projects.
After all, the region offers a high quality of life for those who relocate to the area – a recent poll in fact showed that Northwest Indiana’s newest residents are among its happiest!
